In 2021 Rachit Sharma took JEE Advanced and placed at AIR 6,769. He dropped, joined the one-year programme, and in 2022 placed at AIR 698 — a tenfold improvement, and a place at IIT Kanpur reading Mechanical Engineering.

Is a drop year worth it for JEE?

It is worth it when the last attempt fell short for a reason you can name and fix — a weak subject, poor exam temperament, an interrupted Class 12. It is not worth it as a way of buying another year without changing anything. The three-phase year starts with a full-syllabus diagnostic precisely so that question gets answered in month one rather than month nine.

How is the dropper batch different from repeating Class 12?

A Class 12 programme teaches the syllabus for the first time. This one assumes you know it and starts by finding out where that assumption is wrong, then spends eight months on practice and mock strategy rather than on first exposure.

Can I join with a JEE Main score instead of sitting the scholarship test?

Yes. The merit route applies percentile-linked slabs up to 75% on your existing score — no second test needed. It is the usual path into this batch.
