What happens next, and how long it takes

For the ZEST route the answer is quick: sit the test and the result comes within 48 hours, with the scholarship offer attached to it. There is no separate waiting period and no negotiation afterwards — the slab follows the score.

The merit route is faster still, because there is no test. Send the JEE Main or NEET scorecard, we verify it against the published result, and the applicable slab is confirmed. Most of these are settled in a day or two.

The need-based route takes longer and it should. Applications are read individually by management rather than scored, which means someone is actually weighing income, dependents and circumstances against what the family can carry. Expect a conversation rather than a form response, and expect it to be private — the information does not reach teaching staff and plays no part in admission.

Seats in each programme are capped, so the earlier cycle is worth more than the later one at the same score. That is not a sales line; it is arithmetic about a fixed number of chairs.

Which route should I use?
If you have a JEE Main or NEET scorecard, the merit route — it is faster and needs no second test. If you do not, ZEST. If fees remain a barrier after either, apply for need-based aid on top; it stacks.
